Pray for Ukraine

Please pray for the people of Ukraine, their President and his staff, their soldiers, those still trapped in cities under siege, civilians who are fighting and the refugees fleeing to safety.

We are open again!

Our doors opened on June 1st, and we are excited to welcome you back! We have been preparing to make your return as safe and enjoyable as possible. Here’s a quick overview of what changes to expect.

|Health Update

You can feel safe knowing that we plan to work within safety guidelines. We want to minimize risk and still make a way for your gatherings. Take a look at what we are doing to minimize COVID-19 risks.

OUR COMMUNITY, OUR RESPONSIBILITY

As we move into this new season, we are reminded of all of the best things… God, family, friendship. We are grateful to be a part of this community and will continue to do all we can to look out for one another.

In addition to following Texas guidelines, we will ensure the following changes:

  • CAPACITY – No more than 50% capacity inside the buildings
  • MASKS – Each team member will wear a mask to protect against the spread of germs.
  • GLOVES – To minimize exposure, each member of our team will be wearing gloves while cleaning.
  • HEALTHY STAFF – We will adhere to the state of Texas guidelines for screening staff. These measures include a daily questionnaire focused on exposure and temperature checks.
  • HEALTHY GUESTS – We will adhere to the state of Texas guidelines for screening guests before your stay. These measures include a questionnaire focused on exposure and health as well as temperature checks upon arrival.
  • HANDWASHING – All staff are required to wash their hands and maintain this practice routinely. Guests have access to soap and water in the bathrooms and hand sanitizer in specific locations on the property.
  • CONTINUAL CLEANING – Our staff is committed to deep cleaning each building every day. In addition, we will ensure all high-touch areas such as door handles, railings, tables and chairs are sanitized daily.

**Please stay home if you feel unwell or have a fever, cough, etc.

God bless you all and may you hear from the Lord as you gather together.

NOTE: During your visit, you’ll notice we’ve made lots of changes on the grounds and updates within the buildings.

Help us maintain the Retreat Center!

Help

Support donations are the only way we provide the Retreat Center at the Engage Christian Center, along with the Prayer Center, Training Center and the Scripture Hiking Trails through our heavily wooded 70 acres in Lindale, TX. Engage is a 501 c 3, tax exempt religious organization that provides these facilities on a donation basis only. Many church groups and individuals from the DFW area have come to use the facility for retreat  since we opened the center in 2015.

Maintenance and Repairs

As time goes on, we must make ongoing repairs to various buildings at the retreat center. Our main building could use a bath (power washing), 70 acres of trees create a constant flow of leaves and branches to be cleaned up and some buildings need some fresh paint and gutter work. Our Scripture Hiking Trails need constant chainsaw maintenance to keep them clear. Our primary retreat center building and kitchen need a little constant TLC. The ministry is trying to raise $5,000 to make these immediate repairs and to provide funds to do other needed, but not yet scheduled, repairs. Or if all you have is a strong back and strong arms with a desire to help spruce-up the ministry campus, please call us!

Donations

If you would like to consider making even a small donation to help this ministry, please to go our website www.EngageChristianCenter.org and click on the Pay Now button, under the Donations heading on the right side, after adding your donation amount. God Bless You and thank you for your generosity. Any excess funds will be used to meet the needs of continuing to provide the facility for daily use or overnight accommodations for individuals and groups up to 45. For any donation of $20 or more you may come spend the night at our Retreat facility. Call Matilde at 772-209-8774 to make arrangements. Enjoy walking our Scripture Hiking Trails in the east Texas woodlands (anytime!). Refresh your spirit and enjoy God’s creation.

Housing – New Korea Subdivision – Affordable Living – Christian Atmosphere

Our spiritual and physical neighbor is the New Korea Subdivision. This is a 57 lot housing development that borders Engage on our Northern border  and our Southeast corner. This is not an Engage-owned or funded project. It is being developed by a ministry with a similar vision to Engage. Our vision is to bring young people back to a closer relationship with God and to be laborers for the harvest in the darkest areas of Northeast Asia and other unreached people group areas.

The half-acre lots are being developed to provide affordable housing for Missionaries, Pastors (active or retired), Ministry Staff in the area, Students at nearby YWAM or like-minded individuals who want to be close to our Engage Christian Center and to be a part of our spiritual journey, even if it’s only through prayer.

Homes can be built starting in 2020, by a builder of the individual’s choice or one recommended by the developer. Several walk-thru’s paths will be provided so that home-owners in the development can gain access to the Engage Scripture Hiking Trails, the existing New Korea Prayer Center or the Prayer Mountain Chapel, that will one day be built just below the Prayer Mountain Court cul-de-sac in this New Korea housing subdivision.

If you are interested in obtaining more information, contact Tom at [email protected] or leave a voicemail at 214-679-9006.

RENTALS –

For those unable to afford to purchase a home, there will be homes built by owners to provide rental housing. If you would be interested in renting a home in this community, contact Tom at the email address above and let him know of your interest, so that we can provide your information to investors who build homes to provide affordable rental housing, especially for those who are temporarily enrolled in a program at one of the nearby ministries.

The last home of a traveling evangelical Pastor couple, who prayed many a prayer in what was once their home. Enjoy the information we’ve compiled on the growth of Christianity in Korea, that actually started in North Korea and spread to the South. Did you know that?
